Thylacine's Defiance

In 1936 just 80 days after the species was granted protection, the last thylacine in captivity died. This marked the extinction of the thylacine; ruthlessly hunted and persecuted to extinction.

Since its extinction, the thylacine has captured the hearts and imagination of people around the world; Experts still debate over niche historical facts and YouTube content creators travel deep into the Tasmanian wild to try and catch a glimpse of one.

Yesterday's Fox - Illustrated Poem

Whilst walking within an ancient woodland near Leigh-on-Sea I found a fox skull. The woodland around this typically urban environment is ancient and oozes stories. I was instantly compelled to draw the skull and with this my partner Matthew Stanfield created a poem from it. This is our shared creation.

Folklore Illustration

I have a particular love for exploring windswept places and reading folk tales conjured by people who lived and worked within them. I have taken specific research trips to the Outer and Inner hebrides; in search for unique locations to inspire my illustrations which accompany these traditional stories.
